The pipe is a tube that connects the atmospherewith a sewer riser. In its absence, sewage, which falls on the riser, creates a certain rarefaction, because of which the liquid from the siphon placed above (toilet bowl, sink) leaves accompanied by a characteristic sound, and an unpleasant smell of sewage enters the room through this siphon.
The pipe according to the present constructionstandards may not be established when constructing a sewer system of low-rise construction (two-story buildings). This exception is allowed because of the small volume of a single runoff.
The pipe is an integral part of ventilation in the following cases:
if the building consists of 3 or more residential floors, which are equipped with bathrooms;
if the structure has sewage, made of pipes with a diameter of not less than 50 mm;
if the house has any equipment that is capable of discharging large amounts of sewage into the sewage system, for example, a pool.
The pipe has a couple of simple installation rules. The first - its diameter should be not less (it is supposed the same) the diameter of the pipe with which the riser is made, in no case is it possible to narrow it. Second - the end of this pipe should go to a place from which extraneous odors can easily escape into the atmosphere. Typically, it is 30-50 cm from the wall. Based on practice, the pipe is made from the same sewer pipe and is a continuation of the riser pipe. It is introduced into the ventilation duct, which is designed well in advance. In some cases, the outlet of the pipe through the wall (horizontally) with further external decorative finish is allowed.
The toilet pipe is mounted in themandatory, because often in the structure, it would seem, with a normal sewage system and excellent ventilation, there is an extraneous smell. The pipe not only sucks in the air, it also ventilates the entire sewage system. Proceeding from this, its installation in a suburban structure allows even with a dried siphon to keep fresh air in the bathroom. If there are four or more risers in the building, all these vertically standing chimneys noticeably spoil the overall design of the building. It was for this purpose that the vacuum valve was created, with the help of which it is possible to install just one fan tube for the entire countryside. Its composition includes a sealed rubber seal and a spring. The created vacuum inside the valve (the result of the falling effluents) opens it, which allows the valve to suck in air. When the pressure in the riser is equalized, it closes with the help of a spring, thus preventing unpleasant air from entering the room.
The chimney is an ordinary pipe that servesconnecting the element of the sewer riser to the atmosphere, optionally with a ventilation duct. The length and shape of it can be varied. Its installation is carried out without any difficulties, since the material and technology of conventional sewage are used. In some cases, a vacuum valve can be installed instead.
