Gennady Seleznev was married to Irina Borisovna Selezneva (nee Maslova). They brought up the only daughter Tatyana, who gave the ex-speaker two granddaughters - Lisa and Katya.

Death

In the last years of his life, Seleznev was seriously ill. All conscious life, being an avid smoker, he periodically suffered from various lung diseases. And in the end, he got cancer. He died on July 19, 2015 in Moscow. He died at home, because the medicine was written in his helplessness, and all that the doctors could do was just anesthetize the process.
