Replacement of back brake колодок

Replacement of rear brake pads is carried out on the lift or observation ditch. However, work can be carried out on a flat site.

How to change the brake pads

First remove the wheel. In the passenger compartment, the parking brake cable must be loosened.

In some cases, there is a bead on the drum. It is formed as a result of wear of the working surface. In this case, the rear brake pads should be brought together. For this, two flange bolts must be screwed into the flange holes, which are located diametrically. After you need to rotate the drum until the hole in it matches and the holes in the front shoe. Then insert the rod of the required diameter.

To avoid breakage, do not turn the drum by the guide studs when installing the wheel.

Then it is necessary to insert the mounting blade between the bolts and to turn the drum back with effort. The upper edge of the front shoe will move into the cylinder.

Now it is necessary to combine the hole of the drum with the fastening nut on the release lever.

Using a "thirteen" head with an extension or a suitable pipe, you need to turn the drum forward. This will move the upper edge of the rear shoe inside the wheel cylinder.

Fastening of a drum to a flange of a semiaxis is carried out by means of hairpins. They are also guides for fastening the wheel. Before turning the studs off, they should be taped with a hammer.

With the help of a spanner "twelve"you must unscrew the two pins in the brake drum mount. It is advisable to use a high head or a hexagonal key (spanner). Remove the pins removed into the threaded holes of the drum. In the process of wrapping the stud, leaning against the flange of the semi-axis, the drum will move.

The next stage, which includes a replacementrear brake pads after removal of the drum, - removal of springs. To disconnect the upper end of the compression spring, use a screwdriver. Having pinned the upper edge, remove the part. Again using a screwdriver, you need to pull the edge of the spring into the spacer bar. Further from under the clamping spring, it is necessary to remove the front shoe. After detaching the lower clamping piece, remove the spacer bar.

After removing the rear shoe, it is necessary to detach the tip of the parking brake cable from the release lever.

Clamping springs can be worn due to wearto lose elasticity. The replacement of the rear brake pads may include the replacement of the clamping springs. With the help of a screwdriver, you should pull them out of the shield holes.

The next stage, which includes a replacementrear brake pads, is the release of the parking brake actuator release lever. It is necessary to do this by using the "thirteen" ring wrench to unscrew the nut in the fastening of the release lever, while simultaneously holding the special bolt from turning by means of the key "for seventeen".

Then, the spring washer, bushing, release lever, washer is removed. After that, a bolt is removed from the hole in the shoe. It is desirable to arrange the fastening details in the assembly sequence.

Replacing the rear brake pads is carried outOnly after the pistons are immersed inside the cylinder of the wheel at the same depth. To do this, gently with a hammer, you need to strike through a metal drill.

Now the rear shoe with the lever is assembleddrive of the parking system. The tip of the cable is fixed in the release lever. Further, the shoe is inserted under the clamping spring. After that, the spacer bar is installed. Then it is necessary to connect the bottom edges of the pads with a coupling lower spring and insert the front spring pad under the clamping spring. In the upper part of the back of the shoe, behind the oval hole, the short edge of the coupling upper spring is engaged.

At the end of the operation, the parking system must be adjusted.
