The next parameter, which provides GOST- use only three-layer mounting window seam. Its width should correspond to a certain tolerance. These details are not known to all installers.

GOST recommends to leave gaps of 20-50 mm between the window and the wall. Thus, expansion-contraction of the material with temperature fluctuations will not cause damage to the frame.

The seam itself should consist of three materials. From the inside of the premises a vapor barrier is used, which will protect the double-glazed windows from moisture and corrosion. For the middle layer, take a quality mounting foam. The task of the third layer is to protect the foam from ultraviolet radiation and to ensure the outflow of moisture to the street. GOST recommends for this purpose a self-sealing vapor-insulating tape (their choice is very wide today).
