Installation of PVC flooring with own hands
Installation skirting - the last and, perhaps, the mostnice stage of floor repair. At first glance, this work may seem rather simple. However, here there are unexpected difficulties. Which material should I choose? What kind of tool is needed? How to properly mark and install a floor skirting board?
We will answer these and other questions with the example of plastic plinth Cezar (Poland). The style, shape and width of the bars in this case is not of interest to us. Let us dwell in more detail on the design features.
Kinds
By the method of fixing floor products of thisproducer are divided into two types: with a cable channel and without ("deaf"). To provide an invisible fixation of the blind plinth, use special clips and glue.
To install the floor with a cable channel, no additional fasteners are required - enough conventional dowels or screws.
Mounting tool
To fasten the Polish plinth PVC is required:
- saw and stool for slicing;
- screwdriver;
- drill (perforator);
- screws, dowels;
- Special glue (in case the products with the type of attachment on the adhesive basis are chosen).
Preliminary calculations
To calculate the required footage, you need to knowthe total size of the room (as a rule, the length of all sides of the room is summed). From the amount received, the length of the doorways is subtracted and 1-1.5 m is added for the stock.
In addition to the main material, it is necessary to calculateand the number of external corners, plugs, brackets and couplings. A complete set of accessories that will be needed to install Cezar flooring on the floor can be found on the website .
Layout, preparation and installation of material
The first stage is marking. Places of fastenings are planned on the bottom of the wall. If the floor and walls are level, the bar is fixed in steps of up to 40 cm. Otherwise, the fastenings are performed more often, taking into account the curvature of the walls.
Layout skirting is better to start with the corner itselflong wall in the room. This approach will allow you to get a minimum of scraps and, therefore, save money on construction materials. The remaining cut pieces are usually used for tracing support columns, niches and short sections of the wall.
The second stage is cutting profiles. To cut the plinth Cesar is not recommended to use a grinder or a jig saw. It is better to give preference to the usual hacksaw for metal - with this tool the cut turns out to be more even and more accurate.
The final stage is installation. You should start from a corner along the long wall of the room. In the planned places holes are drilled for the dowels. The profile is put on the inner corner (you can put it on the glue), after which the whole strip is screwed around the entire perimeter. After installation, the accessories are snapped, and the open ends near the doors are completed with plugs.
As a rule, a wide PVC skirting does not have a cable channel, or the design involves fastening to strips or glue. Here, too, it should be remembered that fasten the bars to the wall, not to the floor.
