Mask Baba Yaga - a great addition to the children's theater!

Children's plays are always popular with kids, soas it is a great opportunity to prove yourself on stage. In addition, only here you can have the opportunity to try yourself in a variety of roles: from a good fairy and ending with evil sorcerers. And most importantly, the suit for any character is very easy to create.

A resident of the hut

Today we will talk about the evil old woman, the imagewhich we will try to implement. Without her participation, there is not a single performance, since everywhere a good negative character is needed, which is not exactly worth it.

But the children still love the image of Yaga's woman and alwaysdream to visit it, fly on a broom, laugh loudly and do various mucks. After all, this is just a concert, from which only pleasant impressions will remain. So, for today, our goal is the mask of Baba Yaga with our own hands, which we will create from improvised materials.

Getting out of the closet

We will prepare the necessary materials for our idea. Since we will have a mask of the Yaga woman made of paper, it means that it will be light and comfortable to wear. In addition, it indicates the main component of the product.

• Newspapers. Mask of Baba Yaga will be performed in papier-mache technique, so we need a large number of old newspapers. So you will spend the old raw materials without affecting the new one. It is best to prepare the paper in advance, tearing it into small pieces to facilitate the design process.
• Balloon. It will serve as a dummy for the mask, on which we will superimpose layers of glued paper. So, we will not only save time, but we will be able to independently control the shape of the product.
• Glue. Since the mask of the woman Yaga will be in contact with the children's face, you should take the most sparing option. Perfectly suitable PVA, which contains a minimum of harmful impurities. In addition, it smells least of all, and with the addition of water, it becomes quite safe. Do not forget to take it with a margin, so you do not have to interrupt the process of making papier-mâché and run to the store.

Mask of the Baba Yaga: the process of making

To make the process of perception of information understandable, we will paint all actions in stages, paying sufficient attention to all the details of the work.

1. Inflate the ball to such a size that it can bewas compared with the head of the child, and tie the tip. Now gradually, layer by layer, apply pieces of sticky, glued paper, forming a silhouette of the mask, holes for the eyes and nose. Do not create a large mask that covers the entire face, as it will cause discomfort to the child. The ideal option is a mask to the nose: it will add a twist to the image, but does not frighten the little actors.
2. So you need to collect about 7-10 layers,which will provide the mask with density and durability. Do not forget about the distinctive features of the character: a large nose, wrinkled skin. The finished form can be impregnated with glue. When everything is ready, the mask of the woman Yaga should dry thoroughly: it takes about a day.
3. The next day you can remove the ball, neatlypuncture it, not allowing the cotton, capable of damaging the mask. We brush the surface, remove the irregularities, make holes for the rubber bands. We measure the length of the lace in a stretched form and tie it to the base of the mask.
4. Now let's do coloring. Here you can completely go into the work, giving the skin color a green or yellow tone. In addition, you can draw skin folds and moles. After painting the mask, let it dry for another two hours.

When the mask of the woman Yaga is ready, you can safelyuse in the scenes, adding only a dress, a wig, a kerchief and a broom. With confidence, you can say that with such a mask, those wishing for the role of the old woman will become even more!
