History of Chicago

Musical, reviews about which make you hislook, could not have been born, if there had not been a series of ... crimes. In March 1924, in the city of Chicago, the variety artist shot her boyfriend. This article was written by the journalist of the Chicago Tribune Maureen Watkins. The criminal alleged that she was fatally drunk, so she does not remember how she committed the murder. In April of the same year, Watkins released another material about a married woman who shot her lover under jazz accompaniment.

These and other love-criminal storiesinfluenced the journalist, and she wrote the play "Chicago" in 1926. The musical, which is confirmed by his success, appeared a little later, but immediately aroused the interest of the directors and producers. From the very first day, the jazz production fell in love with the audience, after 898 performances on Broadway and 590 in the West End the show was closed. However, in 1996, the efforts of Bobby Walter and Anne Rinking "Chicago" was revived with an updated choreography, decorations and costumes.
