The Drama Theater (Krasnodar) began its existence in the early 20th century. He has a great and worthy history. His repertoire is rich and designed for spectators of different ages.

History

Always was the cultural center of southern RussiaKrasnodar city. The Drama Theater appeared here in 1909. The building for him was built on the corner of Gogol and Krasnaya streets. He was called Winter Theater at that time. At first, his company was not in the city, and the audience of Krasnodar enjoyed the art of artists who came on tour. L. Sobinov and F. Shalyapin visited the museum. His troupe appeared in Krasnodar in 1920. To its creation are involved such outstanding personalities as: V. Meyerhold, D. Furmanov and S. Marshak.

The first season of the Drama Theater (Krasnodar) was openedthe play "The Mesto" after M. Gorky's play. For 2 months the troupe, consisting of 40 artists, presented 11 prime-ministers to the public. Since 1932 and to this day the theater bears the name of Maxim Gorky. In 1973, he received a new building on the square of the October Revolution, which was later renamed the Teatralnaya. The repertoire of the Krasnodar drama consists of plays by classics and contemporary playwrights.
