Although today the most common protocolaccess to the World Wide Web and a means of data transfer is IPv4 (at least for Windows-based systems), a new development of the sixth version with the declared support in the latest Windows operating systems looks much more preferable. But! The catch is that often the user receives a message that uses IPv6 without access to the Internet.

What is the IPv6 protocol?

Consideration of the very issue associated with the IPv6 protocol should start from the basics, that is, from an understanding of what it is.

If to speak briefly and clearly, it is a system,responsible for the generation, assignment and distribution of unique static and dynamic IP addresses to computer terminals scattered all over the world through a DHCP server, and in such a way that no one's address is ever repeated. In principle, all the now known distribution protocols work on this principle. But the most promising of all is IPv6. Without access to the Internet today, few people imagine themselves, the number of computers or the same mobile devices has grown so much that the existing system simply can not generate new addresses.

IPv6 vs IPv4: Benefits

Now a bit of history. Initially, a protocol of this type was created back in the 70s of the last century and received the abbreviation IPv4. With the then population of the Earth (just over five billion), no one seriously considered that this system can create only four billion addresses.
