The very appearance of these grandiose constructions is due not only to the technical capabilities of ancient people, their architectural art, but also to developed religious and mythological views. Moreover, the Egyptians deified and
own rulers. Pharaohs were considered heirs and messengers of the gods. Ancient Egyptian churches, placed in recognition of the sovereigns of different years, at one time filled the whole country. Some of the most well-known constructions of this kind will be discussed in this article.
Egyptian temple of Pharaoh Ramses
It still stands today under the scorching southern sun. The sanctuary is located to the north-west of another temple, set in honor of the Network I. By the way, near the sanctuary was once located another Egyptian temple, delivered to Ramses II. However, the latter has not survived to this day. its walls. Together they form a kind of intricate pattern. Thanks to these inscriptions, modern scientists became aware of the grandiose battle of the Egyptians with the Hittites at Cadet, in which the 20,000-strong army under the leadership of Ramses was opposed by the twice superior forces of the Hittite king of Mutawali. The masonry of this structure has not been preserved completely, but only two meters in height. However, the scheme of a rather large yard is still traced. It is surrounded by a colonnade of pillars and figures of Osiris. In addition to the courtyard, this Egyptian temple has two halls and many auxiliary rooms. Judging by everything that remains today, the structure was the most carefully constructed and luxurious than any other building during the entire era of Ramses II rule (1279-1213 BC). The building material for the sanctuary was small limestone and red-black granite for doorways. And also sandstone for columns and gypsum, from which the internal decoration of the walls was created.
Karnak Temple
This building is nowadays the largest structure of religious purpose in the world. The sanctuary is one of the most ancient Egyptian structures. It
was built in honor of the lunar god Khonsu,depicted in the form of a figure of a mummified baby, sometimes possessing the head of a falcon. During its inception, it was located in the administrative capital of the state. Its construction began during the reign of Amenhotep III, and was completed only by the pharaohs of the 20th dynasty.
Egyptian Temple of Hatshepsut
It was erected in honor of Queen Hatshepsutnear the city of Thebes. In ancient times it was of amazing beauty, decorated with a multitude of terraces temple. Part of it is embedded in the mountain. Its width is almost forty meters. The rows of colonnades of the sanctuary resemble honey combs. It is interesting that this structure was built in quite a short time: for nine years (1482 BC - 1473 BC).
