Medal "For Military Valor" yesterday and today

The medal "For Military Valor" was established in honor of the centenary of the world proletariat leader. She was awarded:

• employees-front-rank workers, employees of state agencies, collective farmers, scientists and cultural workers who distinguished themselves in the preparation for the festival;
• persons fighting for the establishment of the Soviets, for the defense of the Motherland, the builders of socialism;
• soldiers of the Red Army, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union.

The form of the medal

The medal "For military valor" has a roundshape in 3 cm diameter. The main side contains the engraved bust of the leader and the years of his life "1870-1970". The reverse contains an engraving "For military valor" and a five-pointed star and a sickle with a hammer. Medal "For Military Valor" MVD is equipped with a complete stigma. True, it does not exist on all copies. To the order is attached a shoe width of almost 3 cm, a height of 2.5 cm. Inside this base is wrapped with a ribbon of red silk fabric with yellow lines: two - in the middle, along the edges - one at the back - a fastener with clothes. The artists who made the engravings are N.I. Sokolov and A.V. Kozlov.

There are three types of awards:

- The first contains the phrase "For valorous work." More than 11,000,000 awards have been issued.

- The second option is the words "For military valor." These copies produced 2,000,000.

- The third option does not contain records. This kind of medals was awarded to foreign persons - members of foreign delegations. As mentioned above, these awards were awarded to about five thousand.

The medal was introduced by the resolution of the CPSU Central Committee on 05.11.1969. All in all, about eleven million people were awarded, including: 90000,000 working people, 2,000,000 military men, 5,000 foreigners, and 5,000 foreigners.

Today, as well as before, a rectangular base with a 2.4-cm-wide patch-cloth is shipped with the medal. The award of the first degree differs from the 2 nd degree in that in the middle of the ribbon the highest award has one white stripe 2 mm wide, and the medal secondary - two strips 1 mm wide, between them - 2 mm.

To make a medal, use a topmak (for2 degrees), nickel silver (for 1 degree). It is worn on the left side under the heart. In the rating, it is located after the state awards. At first it was made of two components: the medal itself and the standard, fastened with rivets. The standard quickly worn out. Modern medals are represented by one whole, the color of the standard is covered with one enamel, in connection with which the productivity has increased. The medal is considered a departmental badge of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Lump sum payments

In 2010, the Order of the Minister of Defense No.500, according to which, along with the medal, contract servicemen were entitled to a one-time payment equal to 75% of the monthly salary. According to the third point of this order, the monetary compensation is paid on the basis of the order of the chief, for example, of the military unit. This order is issued within three days after the issuance of a higher order from the Ministry of Russia. True, the order operated until the end of 2014.
