The first information about the university (1914-1921).

Loss of independence and further development (1921-1941).

In the early 20-ies of the last century, the institutioneducation has lost its independence. It became part of the Belarusian State University, became its structural subdivision. For about 10 years, the newly formed faculty and university have followed the same path of development.

In 1931 the situation changed radically. The faculty again became an independent educational institution. Its new name is the highest state pedagogical institute. In 1936, he was given the name of a famous Soviet writer - Alexei Maximovich Gorky, and in 1941 the activity of the university was terminated because of the beginning of the Second World War.

A new period in history (from 1944 to present days)

Minsk Pedagogical Institute was not justclosed and forgotten. In 1944, it was decided to resume the work of the educational institution in Minsk. From this moment the rapid development of the university began. This is confirmed by various awards. They were awarded to the Institute for scientific achievements and special successes in the training of pedagogical personnel.

In 1993 there was a reorganization - at the highereducational institution increased status. From that moment it became known as the Belarusian State Pedagogical University. Another significant event in the modern history of the educational organization occurred in 1995. The name of Maxim Tank was conferred on the pedagogical college.
