First Steps to Poetry
Pavel Vasiliev was born in Kazakhstan, in the city ofbeautiful name Zaisan. The poet's birthday was a windy day on December 25, 1910. Paul's parents are the simplest people with an average income. My father was engaged in teaching mathematics. The love of literature was imparted to the poet by his mother. However, the grandfather and grandmother also played an important role in the formation of the grandson's personality. Pavel Vasiliev enjoyed listening to the stories he composed every evening. Such an interest in knowledge contributed to the fact that already at the age of 10 he began to get involved in poetry and tried to write himself.
Student years of Pavel Vasilyev
In 1926 Paul received a secondary education inPavlodar. Good study and a desire to learn allowed the future poet to enter Vladivostok University. Serious pursuits contributed to the success in studying Japanese literature. Young talents were noticed, and in October, 1926, the editors of Vladivostok University published his first poem "October." The newspaper in which it was printed, was called "Red young". Literary ascent
In 1929 the recognition came. Pavel Vasilyev began to publish many magazines of the capital. Suddenly, the need for a large amount of material has increased, so Vasiliev diligently writes a lot. The result of painstaking work by the end of 1930 was the poem "The Song of the Cossack Host". The work turned out to be very voluminous, so the newspaper publications printed only a few excerpts. The whole poem was published only in 1932 by the magazine Novy Mir.
The arrest of Pavel Vasiliev
Publications brought the author fame. At the peak of his youth Pavel Vasiliev became popular. The poet's biography was overshadowed by political events of that time. In 1932, Paul, along with his fellow poets, was arrested for several months. They were accused of participating in the banned group of writers "Sibiryaki." The participants in this meeting were considered counter-revolutionaries. Paul Vasiliev's cellmates were: Evgeni Zabelin, Leonid Martynov, Sergei Markov. Pavel's friends were convicted for three years, and the city of Arkhangelsk became the place of their exile. Paul received a suspended sentence.

The poet's success provoked hatred and envy. Many of the poet's "friends" wrote letters to the editorial office asking them not to print Vasiliev, giving various implausible arguments. The editorial offices stopped cooperating with him. The outcome of this tense situation was a fight, initiated by the employees of the editorial staff of "Komsomolskaya Pravda". Pavel Vasiliev was arrested and imprisoned for a year. In 1936 he was released. However, anticipating that this is not for long, Paul wrote one of his best poems - "Farewell to Friends." This work carries with it all the pain of the soul and regret that he will not be able to see people who are dear to him.
The Way of the Poet
In 1937 Pavel Vasilyev was arrestedemployees of the NKVD. This time, the reason for detention was the suspicion of organizing a terrorist act directed against Stalin. And Pavel Vasiliev was assigned the role of performer. The place of the last refuge of the poet was Lefortovo prison. After the interrogations, his beautiful signature grew worse, the letters lost their legibility, and at the end they turned into one continuous line. He was exhausted by the most brutal torture, with a broken spine, almost blind, and was brought to the courtroom. The verdict was read out on July 15, 1937. Pavel Vasiliev was only 27 years old when he was declared an enemy of the people and sentenced to be shot. The meeting lasted no more than 20 minutes, after which the verdict was carried out.
The young and talented poet fell to the lotmany tests. Unfortunately, he did not even have his own grave. For a long time the place of burial of the poet was unknown. Only in the 80's it was possible to restore the picture of events of that time and to find the last refuge of the poet. It was the mass grave No. 1 of the Don cemetery with unclaimed ashes. The 30s were the most difficult for the whole country. Every famous writer was subjected to repression.
