A significant event occurred in the cultural andpublic life of the capital of the Ural region in May 2006. Here a unique Museum of military equipment was opened in Verkhnyaya Pyshma (a small town near Yekaterinburg). This history originates in 2005, when the first exhibition of military vehicles was set up on an open site located not far from the central entrance of the metallurgical plant. The idea to perpetuate the combat and labor feats of the inhabitants of the Urals, whose contribution to the overall victory over the enemy in the battles of the Great Patriotic War can not be overemphasized, arose just then. But its implementation required significant material costs. Money for this noble cause, of course, was found, the Museum of military equipment in Verkhnyaya Pyshma exists thanks to financial support from the large Ural business, the city administration and the military district command. And the means for creating the museum were quite significant.
Upper Pyshma, Museum of Military Equipment
The basis of the museum's exposition is a heavy combattechnology, which for many decades was produced by enterprises of the Urals region. This exposition is placed under the open sky, it is unique in terms of the volume and quality of the exhibits. All the cars are carefully restored and are in excellent technical condition. In addition to the legendary machines that took direct part in the fighting on various fronts of the past war, heavy armored vehicles were produced on the open field, which was produced in the factories of the Urals in the post-war decades. Also in the exhibition is widely represented artillery of all kinds, calibers and special-purpose designations, surface-to-air missile technology and modern combat aircraft.
Some Important Points
The concept on which the Museum of Militarytechnique in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, is based on a number of fundamental points. The main one is the non-profit nature of the museum. Its exposition is free and accessible to all visitors. Also in the museum's exposition, the technique of Hitler's Germany and the countries that fought on its side is fundamentally not allowed, no matter how technically interesting these machines are. The military museum in Verkhnyaya Pyshma stands first of all on patriotic positions.
