Miusskiy Liman: description, features, attractions and interesting facts

The Miussky Liman is a flooded, one-armthe mouth of the river Mius, carrying its waters to the Sea of ​​Azov. They are connected by a screw, with a width of just over 400 m. Depending on the season, the length of the estuary varies from 33 to 40 meters. Almost all along the width of the Miusskiy estuary is two kilometers. There are several bottlenecks, in them the width of the reservoir does not exceed 200 meters. There are also extensions exceeding three kilometers. The depth of the Miussky Estuary is 3-5 meters.

It is located in the area of ​​the Sedykh farm and cansimultaneously accept up to 80 guests. The rooms are designed for two, four and five people. Shells are wooden and brick. Fishing on the Miusskiy Liman is prohibited. Although many fishermen refer to Article 8 of the RF Water Code, which permits fishing on the shoreline of any body of water in our country.

But despite this, there are a number of prohibitions,which can be imposed both by federal legislation and by regional laws. In the Rules of Fisheries for the Azov-Black Sea fisheries basin, it is precisely such a ban. They say that in the Miussky estuary from the Nikolaevsky Bridge to the Taganrog-Mariupol motorway any catch of bioresources is prohibited. Violation of these norms entails administrative punishment in the form of a fine and withdrawal of fishing gear.

It is worth noting that the ban on fishing is valid inthese places since October 1983. In 1989, the ban on catching bioresources in the Miusskiy Estuary was prolonged in the updated Rules of amateur and sport fishing. In 2007, the new fishing regulations operating in the Azov-Black Sea basin area, the ban on catching fish in the estuary was also not lifted.

The reason, according to official documents, is as follows. In the middle of the last century, some studies were carried out. Due to which the ecologists found out that the estuary is not exposed to the ebb and flow, and probably, due to this, it has significantly become shallower. Therefore, the dam project was developed, which blocked the reservoir. The upper part of the estuary was used by the fishery, which was engaged in the reproduction of various species of fish of the Azov Sea (mostly carp). Today, the legal successor of this farm is ZAO "Miusskiy Liman", which has legal permission documents for the site and its activities.
