Few also have an idea of ​​Aleksei Molchanov. It is this record that will be discussed in our article.

Biography

He began to actively train, paying special attention to training on land. The athlete studied breathing practices in yoga.

Soon the choice was for the Molchanovs: work as a lawyer or career in professional sports. Alex chose the latter and does not regret it. In an interview with the press, he repeatedly noted how much he began to appreciate such trifles as, for example, breathing in after a long and difficult dive.

At the moment, the athlete not only performs at competitions, but also conducts active coaching activities. He spends most of his time in Canada and in Russia.

Competition

From the first major start in 2004, Alexei Molchanov announced himself. Freediving in Russia did not know the record in 158 meters. The athlete installed him in a dynamic apnea.

The athlete takes part in different championships every year. In the beginning of his career in 2004, Molchanov brilliantly performed at the open championship of Sweden on freediving.

2005 was remembered by the fans of the athlete with high results at the Russian Championship, the first personal world championship in freediving, an international tournament in this sport.

Since then, Alexei Molchanov has participated in more than a hundred major competitions, each of which set various records.

It happened at the championships of the Russian Federation and Sweden in 2004, the championship of our country in 2005, the personal world championship in the same year, at the team championship of the planet in 2006, at the 3-11th personal freediving world championships.

Four years later he set a world record in constant weight - 125 m. Six months later, the diver surpassed his result by one meter. In 2013, Molchanov managed to beat this record by two meters.

In addition to these records, Alexei Molchanov is among the three men who managed to sneak through the famous Blue Arch. The athlete achieved this with his mother.

Tragedy

However, events happen in life, about which it is impossible to remain silent. In the family of the champion in 2015, there was a terrible tragedy: his mother died, the famous Natalia Molchanova, who set 41 world records.

The athlete performed the usual diving without finsat 40 meters with a group of divers. When all surfaced, Natalia was no longer among them. The search did not yield any results, the "freediving queen", as it was called by journalists, was declared dead.
