The drug "Papaverine hydrochloride" refers toMyotropic agents with a strong antispasmodic effect. For many decades it has been used to reduce the tone and relaxation of the vessels and smooth muscles of almost all internal organs. It has a pronounced hypotensive effect. This drug expands the arteries, contributes to an increase in the amount of blood flow, in particular, cerebral. Indications for use are such states,as spasms of smooth muscles of the peritoneal organs with cholecystitis, renal colic; spastic colitis; endarteritis; bronchospasm; pilorospazme; spasms of vessels located in the brain. In the treatment of angina papaverina hydrochloride is used for complex therapy with other drugs.
Contraindications to the use of this drug are:
hypersensitivity, dysfunction of the liver, glaucoma, children's age (up to 0.5 years). In the elderly, you can not take this drug, because there is a risk of hyperthermia.
Means of "Papaverine hydrochloride": instructions for use
The drug is taken 3-4 p. per day. The dosage for a single tablet intake varies depending on the age of the patient. Adults appoint a single dose of tablets of 40-60 mg. Children 0.5-2 grams - 5 mg, 3-4 grams - 5-10 mg, 5-6 liters. -10 mg, 7-9 liters. - 10-15 mg, 10-14 liters. - 15-20mg.
The solution for injection is administered intramuscularly orsubcutaneously. Injections make 2-4 p. per day for 1-2ml. Intravenously, the drug is administered very slowly by 20 mg, previously adding 10-20 ml of sodium chloride (0.9% solution) to it.
