As soon as the leaves begin to appear on the stems (or in autumn), the plant is excavated and dried. Use of raw materials can be done within 3 years from the moment of harvesting.

The root of elecampane is the source of various medicinalelements. These are essential oils, resinous substances, bitter, alkaloids. Due to this, it helps with inflammatory processes, it has antiparasitic and coughing effect. The plant-antiseptic is a good diuretic, which also reduces gastric acidity. It has a beneficial effect on the intestines. It will not be superfluous to use elecampane with a monthly delay in the form of infusion. But elecampane during pregnancy can not be taken (there are exceptions, but in general it is prohibited because of the possibility of miscarriage).
