How to make automatic gates by yourself

It is difficult to find a person who does not aspire tocomfort, I would not like to automate some household processes. Many are eager to do it themselves. For example, one of the modern "amenities" is an automatic gate. With their own hands, they can be opened and closed with a light push of a button on the console. Most often they are installed at the entrance to the site, in the garage.

The simplest of them in their design are swinging, they almost do not differ from the usual, because the main difference between them, the electric drive, is not visible.

Usually these gates are two-fold, openinginside or out. It is worth noting that it is customary to open them all the same to the outside. First, fire safety rules require this, and secondly, it is much more convenient.

Automatic swing gates with own hands

This type of swing gates has the following components:

  • rigid metal frame, assembled from profile pipes (40x30 and 60x30);
  • sheathing of corrugated board, wood or sandwich panels (when installing the entrance to the site of the leaf, sometimes made of forged gratings);
  • Stand of profile pipe (60x30);
  • loops;
  • metal latch.

Before proceeding with installation, it should be borne in mind thatautomatic gates with their own hands are mounted on load-bearing poles, which can be made from a profile pipe with a square section (starting from 100x100 mm), a wooden beam, concrete or brick. Regardless of the choice of the material, the pillars must be concreted to the ground, at a minimum, to a depth of 1 m.

Let's consider installation of bearing columns on an examplebrick. As a rule, in their central part, a profile pipe (100x100 mm) or a channel is installed. They are welded to the armature and then three outward parts are brought outwards, by means of which a profile pipe is fixed to the poles by the height of the gate. To this tube, the loops are subsequently welded. At an altitude of about one meter from the surface of the earth to the pillars also attach mortgages to the drives.

The metal structure of the gate is assembled fromthe outer base (60x30 mm) and the inner frame (40x30 mm), which is welded to the outer one. It serves to increase rigidity. The metal frame after welding is primed (prepared for painting). Usually, automatic garage doors paint with their own alkyd enamel, designed for outdoor work.

The inner frame of the frame is sheathed with corrugated board, wood, sandwich panels or similar sheathing materials, fixed with screws or rivets.

Automatic gates with their own hands hang onLoops that were welded to the posts - profile tubes (60x30 mm). At this stage, it is very important to make sure there is no skewing of the structure. This can easily be done using a level.

The next stage of installation is the conversion of conventional gates into automatic ones. The automatic drive is selected based on the distance between the inner edge of the post and the loop. Possible options:

  • linear automatic drive (if it is not more than 150 mm) - more modern and aesthetic due to lack of levers;
  • lever - otherwise (more than 150 mm).

Automation can only be installed afterthe final adjustment of the ease of the flaps. Automatic gates with their own hands can be opened with difficulty, and this is unacceptable. It is imperative to find out the cause and eliminate it.

It can be in the warp of pillars or frames, unshielded loops. If the drives do not move level, the stem will become skewed and the drive will jam.

When installing the automation, you need to focus on the installation distances specified in the instructions of the selected model.

Connecting the electric drive to the networkare carried out with the help of an electric cable - its insulating pipes (made of PVC) are laid inside poles. To the switchboard, the automation is connected with a three-wire cable.
