Black mamba is a snake inhabiting Africanequatorial forests. You can meet it on the south-eastern coast of Africa (more often in the south of the continent, in the latitudes of Lake Titicaca). She lives everywhere, except for Namibia and South Africa. She managed to adapt to all climatic zones. This is savannah, and forests, and rocks, and swamps.
A man captured a huge part of the space underdevelopment of agriculture. For this reason, snakes are often forced to settle in the fields, in particular, among the planting of reeds. Sometimes they bask in the sun, climbing on top of it.
One individual weighs about 1.5 kg, and the length of her bodyreaches 4 meters. Snake mamba has a thin body, elongated head, rather large dark eyes with a round pupil. The color may be brownish-gray or dark-steel. The abdomen is usually lighter than the back, gray-white or yellowish. The inner cavity of the open mouth of the mamba is always dark in color. The black tongue of the snake accepts external information, and the poisonous immovable upper fangs are a formidable weapon of the aspid. Do not present teeth only for mongooses, because the black mamba avoids and is very afraid of these small fearless animals. She crawls with pleasure over bushes and trees. However, other related snake breeds do this more often. Usually masked among the leaves and branches, where it is not visible at all.
Black mamba is one of the most poisonousbreeds, but it does not attack people, except in self-defense. Aggression can cause any sudden movement with your feet or hands, as well as loud unexpected sounds.
Features of nutrition, habitat and reproduction
The snake feeds on rodents, lizards and birds. On the chosen victim attacks instantly, causing a poisonous bite. Mamba is an aggressive and fast predator. It is capable of developing a high speed at speeds of up to 19 km / h. Such striking data are inherent only to it, because a black mamba is considered a record holder (by the speed of movement). Possessing this ability, snakes are usually persecuted by the victim, and not just waiting. The way of life in the aspid is single, settles mainly in hollows of trees and crevices of rocks.
When exposed to the deadly venom of a snake, humans and animals experience paralysis of the circulatory and central system.
Related species - mamba green and narrow-leaved.
In natural conditions, the snake lives about 20 years.
